Primary School DELF / DALF

The DELF diploma is an international language exam administered by the French Ministry of Education to help non-native French speakers develop their French language proficiency.

At Kilittaşı and Keystone Schools, children learn English "in a natural environment" from the age of 3, experiencing it with native English-speaking teachers. From the age of 4, they are introduced to French as a foreign language. French continues as the first foreign language until the 5th grade of primary school. Bilingual (English and Turkish) students who reach the 5th grade of primary school continue in a French-intensive 5th grade program to reach a level where they can speak the French language they started learning as a second language from the age of 4 by the end of the 5th grade. At the end of the year, we witness their speaking skills through the DELF/DALF exam and crown it with a certificate.

The DELF exam is recognized by international platforms, and students who earn this diploma can use it at every point in their lives.

The DELF exam is skill-based. The exam, which measures reading and reading comprehension, listening and listening comprehension, writing, and speaking skills, consists of four levels:

  • Reading skills
  • Listening and comprehension skills
  • Writing skills
  • Speaking skills

The DELF exam consists of four levels: A1-A2/B1-B2.

DELF A1 and A2 level: Forms the first step of French. It is the level of simple daily conversation in French. People who pass this level can communicate briefly and clearly with basic patterns and frequently used words.

DELF B1 and B2 level: It is the level of effective use of French both orally and in writing. People who pass this level can communicate comfortably and easily. They can understand a large part of the language used in television, radio programs, or work and school life.

At Kilittaşı and Keystone Schools, our students succeed in A1/A2/B1 exams. At the same time, our schools are one of the limited number of DELF exam centers.
